The library is offering a FREE 3 session course on scrapbooking taught by Annette “Annie” Lucas. This course is perfect for those that are new to scrapbooking or for those that are well versed and would like to gain some more tips and ideas! All you will need to bring for the first session is 6 to 7 pictures maximum. Plus anything else you have to showcase the event. For example, ticket stubs, brochures, post cards, etc. All other items needed for scrapbooking will be provided for FREE by Annie Lucas.

The first class will consist of twenty minutes of discussion and viewing materials and the remainder of the time will be for working on your scrapbook pages.

So stop by the library or give us a call and we will get you signed up for the class! Classes will start in January. A day will be picked that fits everyone’s schedule who signed up for the class.

Free Indiana State Park Pass

In case you didn’t know, the Van Buren Public Library had a Free State park pass for all of 2016. This pass was used for free entrance into Indiana State Park. We are excited to announce that we will have another Indiana State Park pass for all of 2017.

How it works: We have one Free State Park pass that is used towards free entrance into the Indiana State Park. Since we only have one pass, it is on a first come first serve basis. You can stop by the library and pick up the pass. Once you are done with it you may return it and someone else can then use it. Make sure and give the library a call to see if the pass is in or if someone is using it. If it is in use, we will put your name down on a list and you will be next in line to receive the pass.

Doggie Tales

“Doggie Tales” will be Tuesday, January 10 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. All ages are welcome to come and read a story to a therapy dog and enjoy some snacks as well. Sign up for this program is not required! Just stop by the library and enjoy reading to some doggies!
